Build 53. Front Wing Fit 2

After waiting 24 hours for the original glue to dry, it was time to finish off the gluing of the wing stays. This part is super messy so I'd advise to change into dirty work clothes and to get the areas you are working in protected well. I chose to use some left over bubble wrap (from the protection that the stays came in) and some cardboard on the floor. I also had blue roll nearby as well as a packet of Wonder Wipes (which are essential in all the build IMO!)

Other than that, this part was messy but quite simple. First whip off the masking tape form the previous step and remove the wheels. Then I put some masking tape on either side of the brackets as this will form a nicer line when I came to smooth it all out, I chose to put a little tab (folded back) on each end, so when I have gloves on it becomes easy to remove with messy gloves!

I then put on 2 pairs of gloves, the ones I have tend to split easily and I didn't want to get this on my hands. Next open up the adhesive tube again and cover each side of the bracket in adhesive, and then put some on the underneath of the bracket too. I chose to do both brackets on the wheel at once as once you get the WD40 out it will get messy.

Once you are happy with how much you have put on, give it a big spray with WD40 and then get in there with your hands and start smoothing it all out! I made sure that I kept the hole for the earth and the tube end at the front open for the indicator wires to pass through.

It actually doesn't look too messy in the photo below, but it felt like it was all over the place. Car is looking great now.
